Overview
The Packaging Technician position is available at our Animal Health facility in De Soto, Kansas. The role supports manufacturing vaccines and biologics for large and companion animals on fermentation and cell culture platforms, performing sealing bottle label application, bottle packaging, palletization, cycle counting, inventory reconciliation, and documentation using Good Documentation Practices.
Responsibilities
Work independently and as part of a team to complete daily production activities while maintaining schedule adherence.
Execute sealing bottle label application, bottle packaging, palletization, cycle counting, and inventory reconciliation.
Complete documentation in accordance with Good Documentation Practices.
Identify opportunities for process improvement and apply basic problem‑solving skills.
Required Education
High School Diploma or equivalent with a minimum of two years of relevant work experience, OR Bachelor's degree in a relevant field.
Required Skills & Experience
Principled verbal and written communication.
Follow and comply with Manufacturing/Packaging directions, Standard Operating Procedures, and company and regulatory policies.
Effective time management and ability to meet deadlines.
Teamwork and support of others.
Basic computer skills (MS Word and MS Excel).
Availability to work overtime as needed.
Assist in training new team members.
Operate forklift and pallet jack.
Assist with equipment set‑up and operation.
Preferred Skills & Experience
Experience in a manufacturing/packaging environment.
Understanding of aseptic processes used in manufacturing/packaging.
Experience with SAP or another ERP system.
Working Conditions
Third Shift, Monday‑Friday: 9:30 pm – 6:00 am.
Flexibility for overtime, including holidays, Saturdays, and Sundays.
No travel required.
Climate‑controlled and non‑controlled areas.
Compensation & Benefits
Annual salary range: $48,600 – $76,600. Eligible for an annual bonus and long‑term incentive, if applicable.
