The Role – Sales Director – Eastern Pennsylvania
Due to expansion of the in‑market team, we have an exciting opportunity for a Sales Director to join our team in Eastern Pennsylvania. The incumbent will oversee the development and performance of all sales activities within the greater Philadelphia marketplace, be physically based in Eastern PA, direct a sales team, and provide leadership toward the achievement of maximum profitability and growth in line with company vision and values. The Sales Director will manage a successful team by focusing on effective training, skill development, targeted recruitment, strategic vendor relationship management, and effective sales execution to meet individual and team objectives.

Responsibilities Include:

Oversee the daily operations of the assigned sales team to ensure goals and objectives are met.

Establish account lists and align sales territories.

Develop and complete strategic account plans for top accounts in the region.

Monitor all sales activities within the team, ensuring satisfactory account management performance and consistent achievement of goals.

Review current projects—including invoicing, milestones, and performance—to maximize sales efforts and meet quarterly objectives.

Achieve sales and marketing goals by collaborating effectively with internal and external partners.

Build and maintain client relationships within the customer base, including meetings with customers, manufacturers, and vendors, to strengthen Presidio’s position as the partner of choice.

Provide RFP assistance and direction to the sales and engineering teams.

Approve expense reports for direct reports in accordance with specified budgets and company policies.

Interact with vendors on a strategic level to plan, manage, and evaluate annual growth objectives for both sides.

Communicate routinely with vendor partners to ensure plan objectives are met and to create go‑to‑market strategies.

Foster effective relationships with multiple vendors to increase business growth effectiveness.

Ensure the sales team is trained on key partner solutions and maintains relevant certifications.

Execute sales strategy by identifying customer needs and selling the appropriate Presidio services.

Develop business through multiple marketing and sales techniques, including cold calling, in‑person meetings, and partnership with vendors or manufacturers.

Maintain a targeted understanding of customers' businesses, establishing customer needs, buying cycles, and strong relationships to drive sales and repeat business.

Create a strategic plan with the customer’s executive staff to add value to the customer’s business and align a sales plan with both the customer’s and Presidio’s strategic needs.

Account Management

Meet or exceed annual sales top‑line revenue and margin goals as defined by management.

Manage individual sales objectives, including sales orders and billing activities to support quarterly goals.

Maintain on‑going customer account information in internal systems and resolve customer satisfaction issues.

Work with inside sales to ensure accurate quotes and order processing.

Collaborate with the engineering team to scope projects accurately.

Maintain relationships with all levels of customer contacts, focusing on executive‑level (Director and above) relationships.

Manage past‑due invoice resolution with accounting to ensure proper collections.

Leadership & Development

Ensure each staff member completes a Career Development Plan and reviews it quarterly.

Educate the team on sales, technical, and business acumen to better support customer needs.

Mentor and motivate sales team members to achieve satisfactory performance.

Provide training and development on reporting and metrics management, internal systems, and processes to enhance the accuracy of sales forecasts and processes.

Drive recruiting efforts and lead interviewing to build a continuous pool of qualified sales candidates.

Manage and educate the team on account mapping, marketing, planning, and execution to enhance go‑to‑market strategies.

Review and complete annual performance appraisals for direct reports in accordance with policy and procedures.

Monitor staff development objectives, including sales training and certifications, to maintain a qualified sales staff.

Provide accurate weekly, monthly, and quarterly sales forecasts and manage individual and team pipelines at all stages.

Understand market trends and train internal and external partners on business opportunities.

Conduct weekly sales commitment calls to ensure effective strategy deployment.

Review company, territory, regional, and individual progress updates with team members.

Required Skills and Professional Experience

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work or military experience.

5–10 years in IT outside a sales leadership role with a proven track record of exceeding quota and managing a team.

Preferred Skills and Professional Experience

Previous experience working in a market‑based environment.

Established relationships with vendor partners and customers.
