The Director of Internal Communications leads the strategy, planning, and execution of employee communications across the organization. This role is responsible for creating clear, consistent, and engaging communications that connect employees to the company’s vision, strategy, culture, and priorities. The position partners closely with executive leadership, HR, marketing, and business leaders to drive organizational alignment and support change management initiatives.

This position can be located anywhere in the Zions Bancorporation footprint.

Key Responsibilities:

Develop and execute the enterprise internal communications strategy

Create and manage communication plans supporting business priorities, organizational updates, and transformation initiatives

Lead CEO and executive internal messaging, including town halls, leadership announcements, and enterprise updates

Coordinates across internal communication channels including editorial board content, intranet, newsletters, leadership communications, and employee campaigns

Partner with HR and business leaders to support employee engagement, culture initiatives, and change management communications

Ensure consistent messaging, tone, and communication standards across the organization

Build communication toolkits and resources for people leaders and executives

Manage editorial calendars and communication governance processes

Monitor employee feedback and communication effectiveness metrics to continuously improve engagement

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Journalism, Public Relations, Human Resources, or related field

8–10+ years of internal communications experience, preferably in complex or matrixed organizations

Strong executive communications and organizational storytelling capabilities

Experience supporting change management and enterprise transformation efforts

Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills

Ability to manage multiple priorities and influence across all levels of the organization

Familiarity with employee communications platforms and engagement tools
