About the Role
Anthropic’s Life Sciences team is seeking a Partnership Manager to own our most strategic relationships, pairing Claude directly with biotech company formation and R&D. The role involves managing a portfolio of partners, each with its own technical roadmap, success metrics, and stakeholder network. You will serve as the primary point of contact, oversee execution, harmonize learning with our research team, and shape partnership scopes and delivery.
Key Responsibilities
Serve as the primary day‑to‑day point of contact and relationship owner for our initial and expanding set of partners.
Own execution of each partnership’s technical roadmap and success metrics, tracking progress and surfacing risks.
Manage the full set of internal and external stakeholders for each relationship, including technical leads, business sponsors, and executives.
Act as the connective tissue between partners and Anthropic’s Life Sciences research team, mapping skills and ensuring cross‑functional learning.
Help shape and negotiate partnership scope—co‑development of new skills, company co‑creation structures, and novel deal constructs—ensuring ambition endures into delivery.
Build operating rhythms, documentation, and internal processes for high‑touch partnerships, laying groundwork for a scalable model as the program matures.
Feed field signals back to the research team so that learnings improve the broader platform.
Minimum Qualifications
Experience managing complex, technical partnerships or business development relationships, ideally in biotech, pharma, or another scientifically intensive industry.
Strong scientific or technical fluency and capacity for detailed conversations about biotech R&D roadmaps.
Experience with product development or product management, even if lightweight.
Comfort with owning a relationship end‑to‑end—negotiating scope through day‑to‑day delivery.
Ability to manage multiple senior internal and external stakeholders simultaneously with patience and clarity.
Preferred Qualifications
Thrives in ambiguity and enjoys building processes and operating models from scratch.
Excitement about Anthropic’s mission and the opportunity to help reinvent how biotech companies get built and resourced.
Experience working directly with venture‑backed biotech company creation or “company‑builder” models.
A track record of translating technical work into clear, structured documentation that others can build on.
Compensation
Annual Salary: $300,000—$320,000 USD.
Logistics
Minimum education: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education, training, and/or experience.
Required field of study: a field relevant to the role as demonstrated through coursework, training, or professional experience.
Minimum years of experience: corresponds to internal job level requirements.
Location‑based hybrid policy: staff are expected to be in one of our offices at least 25% of the time; some roles may require more time in office.
