About the Role CNN seeks a talented Video Producer to join the The Arena with Kasie Hunt team in Washington DC.
Responsibilities Integral member of a lean, tight‑knit show staff.
Help craft the look of the show by generating impactful visual material for live segments, packages, and teases.
Screen media for the best visual elements and editorial sound bites.
Assist in research, compilation, production, and editing of pieces.
Run tape out of the control room, work with editors on taped segments, and handle any changes for the show’s later runs.
Coordinate and ingest video elements during breaking news.
Generate ideas for guests, questions, and segments, and handle an intense and stressful breaking‑news environment to turn elements around quickly and accurately in the control room.
May need to work weekends and/or extended hours due to breaking news.
Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in journalism or related field of study is preferred, or equivalent experience.
Minimum of two years production experience in the news television industry.
Strong news judgment as well as written, verbal, interpersonal communication, research, and production skills.
Strong writing skills; may be called upon to independently write television scripts.
Experience cutting show elements across network platforms a plus.
Standard knowledge of show production.
Compensation Pay Range: $56,511.00 – $104,949.00 per year. Other rewards may include annual bonuses, short‑ and long‑term incentives, and program‑specific awards.
