News interns at KCUR 89.3 produce broadcast and digital news stories in a real‑world environment that prepares them for the future.
Program Details
This is a temporary, full‑time, 40 hours per week internship position. Internships are non‑benefit eligible.
Session start and end dates may be negotiable, depending on the intern's circumstances, but training and other events are built according to the following schedule.
Program session dates: September 14, 2026 - May 28, 2027
Minimum Qualifications
Interns must embrace a commitment to thorough, behind‑the‑headlines coverage of the Kansas City metro by paying attention to news and current events.
Compensation
The anticipated hiring range for this position has been established as $15.00 hourly.
Interns may receive academic credit if an agreement is made between KCUR and the intern's college or university.
Benefits
This position is not eligible for University benefits. Individuals in non‑benefit eligible positions may choose to participate in the Tax Deferred Annuity Plan (403b).
