Job Description
Up To Date internships offer real experience on an award-winning daily public affairs talk show. Up To Date interns assist with the day-to-day operations of KCUR's award-winning daily public affairs talk show hosted by Steve Kraske.

Interns pitch show and feature ideas, participate in production meetings, research show topics and guests, mix recorded promos and billboards, update the web page, gather and edit audio, conduct pre-interviews and screen phone calls during the live broadcast.

By the end of the term, interns have pitched and produced at least one show segment intended for broadcast on Up To Date.

Up to Date interns work quickly, independently and successfully under pressure and with constant deadlines.

Shift
This is a temporary, full-time, 40 hours per week internship position. Internships are non-benefit eligible.

Session start and end dates may be negotiable, depending on the intern's circumstances, but training and other events are built according to the following schedule.

Program session dates: September 14, 2026 - May 28, 2027

Minimum Qualifications
We require strong research, writing and organizational skills; we prefer candidates with basic skills in audio editing (we use Adobe Audition), social media and website content management systems.

Anticipated Hiring Range
The anticipated hiring range for this position has been established as $15.00 hourly.

Interns may receive academic credit if an agreement is made between KCUR and the intern's college or university.

Salary is determined by a variety of factors, including but not limited to, the individual's particular combination of education, skills, and experience, as well as organizational requirements.
