Location
Onsite in Santa Clara at least 4 days/week, with 1 day/week working from home. Flexible hours. Willingness to do early morning or late‑night conference calls.
Audience
Business end users and IT admins for cloud security automation platform.
Tasks
Manage product content architecture, test steps in cloud apps, write detailed procedures, create UI text (such as labels, tooltips, title bar text, and non‑interactive instructions) and contribute to marketing content. Participate in two staggered 2‑week Agile sprints. You won’t have to write original developer documentation, but might need to supplement existing developer content with relevant examples from cloud apps. Identify communications‑related issues from customer feedback, make recommendations, and implement all aspects of appropriate solutions without help or guidance.
Deliverables
(1) Installation guides, (2) configuration guides, (3) troubleshooting guides, (4) tuning, (5) UI text (tooltips, etc), (6) related procedures documentation. The product handles security monitoring (including in‑service configuration settings, policy violation detection, and anomaly detection).

ProProfs KB, HTML, CSS, Microsoft Office suite, Axure, Adobe Photoshop, Camtasia.
Soft Skills
Positive, energetic, can‑do attitude and achievement orientation. Being self‑motivated and able to think on your feet are essential, as is willingness to jump in and deliver full‑coverage solutions (rather than just the "tech writing" part).
Team
You’ll be the company’s only technical writer, but will take over from employee #9 who did a good job setting up documentation and UI content infrastructure. Key SMEs are offshore, so early or late conference calls with India are required.

Required
- Working knowledge of IT security
- Familiarity with SaaS infrastructure
- Solid experience with information architecture, information design, and documenting SaaS products
- Willingness to write UI text (labels, tooltips, title bar text, and non‑interactive instructions)
- Excellent oral and written communication, research, analytical, problem‑solving, and interpersonal skills
- Shareable portfolio of customer‑facing content about complex software
- Willingness and ability to work onsite 2‑days/week in Santa Clara
- Experience creating and documenting relevant examples from cloud apps to supplement existing developer content
- Exposure to Salesforce and/or Amazon Web Services administrative interfaces
- Ability to create video content using Camtasia (or similar)
- Background documenting in an Agile development environment (two‑week sprints)
