Job Description
We are looking for a Graphic Designer to join a fast‑paced team. The employee shall provide computer‑generated graphics and creative consultation in order to develop original artwork, visual aids, and typographic layout for print media, digital display, websites, social media, digital displays (e.g., TV monitors), and printed products. The products may be delivered to the customer in various formats such as jpg, PDF, etc.

The contractor shall also provide creative consultation and production services to develop various publications including annual reports, multi‑color brochures, graphic illustrations, posters, PowerPoint presentations, charts, program booklets, conference and marketing collateral, courtroom exhibits, special events, educational programs, standard forms, award certificates, mail‑merge documents, and other graphic art‑related print and web products.

Education and Background

Degree in graphic design or related field.

Pre‑press and post‑print production services: preparing print‑ready files, verifying images, resolution, bleeds, font conflicts, and file cleanup.

Use of Adobe Creative Cloud Suite, MS Office Suite, and related hardware/software.

7+ years

Required Skills

Expert knowledge of industry‑standard publishing applications: Adobe Creative Cloud Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Acrobat Professional).

Proficiency in MS Office Suite and Flash, PowerPoint.

Digital portfolio required.

Highly skilled on Mac platform.

Key Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Advanced expertise in graphic design practices and industry‑standard software.

Basic proofreading skills.

Understanding of printing parameters and production processes.

Ability to create innovative designs for print, web, and presentations.

Capacity to produce visual representations of complex concepts.

Advisory skills on formats, media, reproduction methods.

Production of a wide range of visual communications from conception to completion.

508‑compliant web file production.

Prepares design files for print and web production and conducts quality assurance checks.

Manages creative projects from concept to completion, translating marketing objectives into creative strategies.

Multitasking under tight deadlines; ability to work beyond normal hours and holidays when needed.

Excellent communication and customer service skills.

Aesthetic Direction

Contemporary, modern style; minimal 2D drop shadows, embossing, or dated lettering.

Emphasis on photo‑manipulation over vector graphics.

Clean, academic, prestigious tone.

Effective use of negative space.

Portfolio must demonstrate range across long‑form print/report design and digital assets such as social media graphics and digital banners.

Bonus Skills

Photo editing (subject isolation, cleanup, export).

Experience with AI‑generated imagery.

Working Conditions
Onsite in Washington, D.C., five times a week during regular business hours.

Compensation
$90,000 - $95,000 per year.
