Proposal Specialist/Marketing Content Writer – New York, NY (Entry‑level)

About the Role
You'll be part of a dynamic team of proposal writers, graphic and 3D designers, knowledge management specialists, and communications professionals working together to help win work.

We’re looking for an entry‑level proposal specialist to help lead the development, writing, and production of proposal responses for major construction projects. The role requires curiosity about how construction projects come together, strong writing ability, and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with specialists from various disciplines.

Responsibilities

Write and edit content for client proposals.

Create outlines and content plans for proposals and provide recommendations on section structure and relevant content. Serve as lead writer and editor for tailored resumes, project description sections, executive summaries, and/or project approaches.

Lead RFP kickoff and follow‑up meetings with project teams, establishing clear expectations, driving accountability, and ensuring all content is delivered on schedule.

Facilitate structured reviews of proposals by the project team and manage implementation of revisions based on review team direction.

Coordinate with adjacent departments to ensure all required RFP content is identified, collected, and integrated into proposal responses.

Support client presentation preparation with the project team, including developing slide decks, prepping the team, and attending pitches as needed.

Perform a variety of copyediting and other writing‑related tasks for marketing materials as required.

Collaborate with other marketing department teammates to handle a dynamic workload.

Operate comfortably in a fast‑paced, deadline‑driven environment with multiple partners and stakeholders, including executives.

Complete internal debriefs for proposals, drawing on past pursuit debrief information and support team during win/loss debriefs and client feedback loops.

Take initiative to keep marketing collateral up to date as time allows.

Perform a self‑check of work prior to submitting for review/approval.

Minimum Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in English, Journalism, Creative Writing, or other Liberal Arts curriculum, or demonstrated equivalency of education and/or experience.

Strong writing skills — able to turn technical input into clear, persuasive, client‑ready content.

Excellent interpersonal and collaborative skills — comfortable working with people across all levels, from project engineers to senior executives.

Curiosity about the construction industry and how projects get built, even without direct industry experience.

Ability to manage multiple deadlines simultaneously and stay organized under pressure.

Strong attention to detail, especially around formatting, consistency, and accuracy.

Experience with Salesforce or similar CRM tools a plus, but not required.

Preferred Qualifications

Previous experience in the AEC industry.

Experience creating RFQ/RFP responses and supportive presentation materials.

Video editing capabilities.

Hybrid in‑office/remote (3 days office/2 days remote a week).

Compensation
$31 - $31

Enrollment and Onboarding
