Business Development Manager
We are looking for a highly skilled Business Development Manager to support strategic business development initiatives and cross-functional collaboration across departments. This role represents Discovery Education externally and collaborates frequently with senior leadership and external partners to connect strategy and drive revenue and impact.
Responsibilities
Generating Revenue Opportunities
Generate volume of opportunities for the Corporate Partnerships new bookings team through highly tailored outreach strategies.
Collaborate closely with Sales leads to support industry coverage.
Target companies with financial potential to partner with Discovery Education’s Corporate Partnerships team for Signature, Coalition, Career Connect, and underwriting opportunities.
Travel to conferences and meetings to generate leads for the New Bookings pipeline (up to 50% travel).
Engaging Stakeholders
Proactively engage senior leadership to develop cultivation strategies for prospecting.
Coordinate outreach efforts for senior leadership.
Support meeting coordination and follow‑up for senior leadership.
Manage relationships with Discovery Education’s Strategic Alliance partners.
Marketing Collaboration
Lead relationships with key Strategic Alliance partners to activate lead generation opportunities such as event series and speaking engagements.
Collaborate with CEP Growth Marketing to ensure partner opportunities are capitalized on.
Collaborate with K12 Sales and Marketing to identify new markets and opportunities for the Discovery Education Campaigns team.
Serve as a liaison between Corporate Education Partnerships and K12 departments to coordinate participation in brand events.
Research and Strategy
Research industry news, company giving data, and CSR trends to inform strategy.
Source new partner organizations aligned with Discovery Education’s mission.

Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business, Communications, or related field.
3+ years of experience in marketing and business development.
Experience managing strategic partnerships.
Proficiency in Asana or similar project management tools.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to travel up to 50% or as needed.
Legal right to work in the United States.
Position is Hybrid in Charlotte, NC or remote and can sit out of Washington, D.C. The hiring range for this position is between $87,850 and $97,600 annually; base pay may vary based on experience and location. This position is eligible for a variable target.
