Job Summary/Description
WSMV4 in Nashville is looking for a dynamic multimedia journalist/traffic reporter. This dual‑role position requires a self‑starter who can gather and produce compelling news content in the field during the day, then transition seamlessly to the set to deliver afternoon traffic reports.

Field Reporting

Develop and pitch unique enterprise stories daily

Shoot, write, edit, and present compelling stories, either solo or with a photographer

Optimize story presentation for each WSMV news platform

Participate in daily editorial decisions

Traffic Reporting

Anchor live traffic segments during our afternoon newscasts from the set

Adapt quickly to breaking traffic incidents and update information in real time across platforms

Maintain a professional, polished on‑air presence and develop a strong rapport with viewers

Qualifications/Requirements

At least two years of experience as a multimedia journalist

Strong writing skills and editorial judgment

Ability to shoot and edit on deadline

Ability to multitask and pivot quickly between field and studio roles

Strong understanding of digital and social platforms

Clean driving record

Four‑year college degree
