Are you a master storyteller who loves shaping employee experiences and bringing an organization’s mission to life? I am currently recruiting for a Corporate Communications Contractor to join a prominent, mission-driven scientific organization based right here in Washington, D.C.!This is a year-long, temp-to-hire opportunity offering a competitive rate of $30.00/hour (40 hours/week, Mon–Fri, 9 AM – 5 PM). Location Details:* D.C. Local Candidates: This is a hybrid role requiring you to be in the Washington, D.C. office 2 days a week (Mondays and Wednesdays).* Note: While we are prioritizing local DMV talent, the client is open to fully remote arrangements for a "perfect fit" candidate located outside the D.C. metro area! What You'll Be Doing:* Employee Communications: Draft & edit internal content, intranet articles, talking points, and leadership toolkits. You'll also host a bi-monthly People Leaders Forum to keep management aligned.* Employer Branding: Research and write compelling employee stories and profiles that showcase the organization's vibrant culture and values.* Crisis Prep: Support the maintenance and readiness of crisis communications plans and rapid-response materials.* Tech-Forward Comms: Utilize Microsoft 365 (SharePoint, Teams, PowerPoint), Asana, and leverage AI/emerging tech to boost communication workflows.
