Job type:
Full Time

Position Overview
MPG is investing aggressively in TikTok Shop as part of its Full Funnel Commerce platform, which integrates ecommerce, retail media, social commerce, digital shelf, and full‑funnel marketing for CPG and consumer brands. This role is a rare opportunity to take a proven capability and build it into a category‑leading offering, with direct executive visibility and the resources of an established agency behind you.

MPG is a managed services agency delivering full funnel commerce, including digital, retail and social media services, for consumer brands. We are seeking a

Senior Director, TikTok Shop , to lead an in‑house team of TikTok Shop experts who manage TikTok Shops for our clients. This leader will own the full P&L and offering: scale the existing book of business, build the systems and team needed to support rapid, profitable growth, and establish MPG as a leading TikTok Shop partner for brands. This role reports directly to the EVP of Digital Commerce.

This is a build‑and‑grow role. You will inherit an established team and client base, and you are expected to aggressively expand both. Equally important: you understand that TikTok Shop does not operate in a vacuum. Success in this role means understanding and articulating how TikTok Shop activity, content, creators, live commerce, and media influence full funnel discovery and purchase behavior across Amazon, online retail broadly, retailer.com, DTC, and brick‑and‑mortar, and using that narrative to win and grow client relationships.

Key Responsibilities
TikTok Shop Strategy & Operations

Own the strategy, execution, and P&L for MPG’s TikTok Shop practice across paid media, affiliate/creator management, livestream/live commerce, and shop operations (Seller Center, catalog, fulfillment).

Set the standard for how MPG runs TikTok Shop for CPG clients, including how AI is incorporated into workflows as a core operating principle: creator sourcing and activation, affiliate commission structuring, content strategy, promotional calendar planning, and paid amplification.

Directly oversee business development and client account management for the existing TikTok Shop book, ensuring retention, satisfaction, and expansion of scope.

Build scalable systems, playbooks, and reporting frameworks, prioritizing profitable, efficient growth over GMV alone.

Full Funnel Omnichannel Expertise

Serve as MPG’s in‑house expert on how TikTok Shop and social commerce activity drive halo effects across the full commerce ecosystem, including Amazon, Walmart, retailer.com, DTC, and in‑store/brick‑and‑mortar purchase behavior.

Partner with MPG’s Retail Management, Media Management, and Omni teams to build integrated, cross‑platform strategies and reporting that connect social commerce to total commerce performance.

Own the measurement narrative: build clear, credible frameworks that demonstrate how TikTok Shop activity impacts total commerce performance, not just in‑platform activity, and use that narrative to differentiate MPG from single‑platform TikTok Shop agencies in pitches, QBRs, and renewals.

Business Development & Profitable Growth

Act as the primary business development driver for the TikTok Shop practice: build and manage a new business pipeline, lead pitches, and close new client engagements.

Partner with MPG leadership and sales on positioning, proposal development, and pricing for TikTok Shop and integrated full funnel commerce offerings.

Represent MPG at industry events, with TikTok platform partners, and in prospect conversations as the face of MPG’s TikTok Shop capability.

Identify and pursue upsell opportunities within MPG’s existing CPG client base who are not yet using TikTok Shop.

Lead, coach, and grow the existing in‑house TikTok Shop team; hire and onboard additional talent as the book of business expands.

Set performance goals (GMV growth, affiliate/creator pipeline health, paid media efficiency, client retention) and hold the team accountable to them.

Build a strong internal culture of ownership and craft, consistent with MPG’s broader team philosophy.

Develop internal workflows that treat AI fluency as a baseline skill, freeing the team to focus on strategy, relationships, and creative judgment.

Qualifications And Required Skills

5+ years managing digital retail plus 2+ years of hands‑on experience running TikTok Shop, either agency‑side or in‑house at a brand, with a track record of driving GMV growth.

Deep, practical knowledge of TikTok Shop mechanics: Seller Center, GMV Max and other paid campaign types, TikTok Affiliate Center and Creator Marketplace, livestream/live commerce, and shop optimization.

Specific experience with CPG brands (food & beverage, health, beauty, household) strongly preferred; familiarity with the regulatory and retailer dynamics unique to CPG is a plus.

Demonstrated understanding of the broader commerce ecosystem: how digital and social commerce and content‑driven discovery on platforms like TikTok influence Amazon and Walmart search ranking, conversion, and sales, retailer.com and DTC performance, and offline retail sales.

Hands‑on experience using AI and automation tools to improve content creation, creator management, or reporting workflows, with a point of view on where AI creates real leverage versus hype or overuse.

Proven business development ability: a history of sourcing, pitching, and closing new client or partner relationships, not just managing existing accounts.

A profitability mindset: comfort managing not just growth metrics but the underlying cost structure and margin of the business.

Experience managing and developing a team, including performance management and coaching.

Strong analytical fluency: comfortable working with GMV, TACoS/ACoS‑style efficiency metrics, affiliate/creator performance data, off‑platform attribution and translating data into strategic recommendations.

Excellent executive presence and communication skills; able to represent the practice credibly with client C‑suite, internal leadership, and platform partners.

Entrepreneurial, high‑ownership mindset; comfortable operating with significant autonomy while building a function from a small base.

Existing relationships with TikTok Shop platform partner teams.

Experience running or scaling a TikTok Shop practice inside an agency holding company or managed services environment.

Familiarity with leading analytics platforms.
