Job Description – Summary of Duties and Responsibilities
Provide leadership to County Extension councils to meet legal obligations and carry out the roles and responsibilities of an Extension District.
Supervise county staff as outlined in the memorandum of understanding between the council and the University.
Oversee program delivery that meets the programmatic needs of the region.
Initiate and manage fiscal policies, grant and contract management, human resources, and program needs assessment.
Develop and oversee volunteer networks and work with councils to reach under‑served and under‑represented audiences while ensuring compliance with civil rights requirements.
Identify regional needs, coordinate with Extension Program Specialists for appropriate programmatic responses, and assist with reporting program outcomes.
Administer resources, ensure accurate completion of all system reports for the region, and facilitate the establishment of networks and coalitions at the regional level.
Participate in regional or multi‑state partnerships or programs as needed.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with financial resource development, including creation and management of budgets.
Experience with networking and partnership development leading to educational programs.
Experience supervising staff and volunteers, including hiring, performance management, and other human resource functions.
Experience with contract and grant writing.
Experience in an educational field.
Experience working cooperatively with an elected board.
Experience developing and strategically implementing policies and procedures.
