Position Overview

The Program Manager (Continuing Education) provides leadership and oversight for accredited continuing education programs and conferences serving healthcare professionals throughout the service area. The position is responsible for program planning, implementation, evaluation, accreditation compliance, financial management, and staff supervision. The Program Manager develops and maintains strategic partnerships, supports healthcare workforce development initiatives, and ensures the effective delivery of high-quality educational activities that align with organizational goals and community needs.

Responsibilities

Plan, coordinate, implement, and evaluate accredited continuing education programs and activities for healthcare professionals.
Manage all phases of educational activity planning, including needs assessment, learning objectives, faculty and speaker coordination, educational materials, distance‑learning activities, and post‑activity evaluation.
Oversee conference and event operations, including registration, venue coordination, signage, catering, audiovisual services, exhibitor support, event setup and breakdown, and virtual learning platforms.
Coordinate live, hybrid, and virtual educational activities, including webinar technology, participant support, and collaboration with audiovisual and technology personnel.
Provide leadership for the development and implementation of educational programs designed to address identified healthcare workforce and professional development needs.
Coordinate activities of the Continuing Education Advisory Committee, including meeting planning, agenda development, documentation, and follow‑up activities.
Travel as necessary to support educational programs, conferences, and related activities.
Supervise continuing education coordinators and support staff involved in educational activities and conferences.
Assign and monitor work, establish priorities, provide training and guidance, and evaluate employee performance.
Provide operational leadership and oversight to ensure successful implementation of educational programs, conferences, and related services.
Develop and implement procedures, workflows, and quality improvement efforts to support program effectiveness and efficiency.
Monitor operational performance and recommend improvements to enhance service delivery and participant experience.
Maintain accreditation documentation, attendance records, participant credit records, and required program reports.
Ensure compliance with accreditation, regulatory, and institutional requirements.
Oversee data collection, outcomes measurement, learner evaluation analysis, and reporting activities.
Prepare accreditation submissions, supporting documentation, and reports required by accrediting organizations and institutional leadership.
Maintain records retention and documentation processes for continuing education activities.
Assist with securing grants, sponsorships, exhibitor support, and other resources to support program growth and sustainability.
Assist with budget development and monitor contracts, invoices, purchase requests, and financial reconciliation processes.
Develop and maintain collaborative relationships with faculty, advisory committee members, healthcare organizations, vendors, sponsors, exhibitors, and community partners.
Collaborate with marketing and communications personnel to develop promotional and outreach strategies that support continuing education initiatives.
