Anchor tech wanted in Estherville, Iowa Job at Diagnostic Network, Inc. in Esthe

Diagnostic Network, Inc. · Estherville, IA, USA ·

Pay:
$30-$45/hr
Job type:
Full Time

I'm not quite sure what to call the position but I'm looking for a tech to anchor the shop so ‘anchor tech’ seems as good as any.
We're a profitable and well established shop (nearly 40 years) in a small town. Well equipped with 6 bays and 4 lifts. Brand new Hunter Hawkeye Elite with new Hunter scissor rack. The rest of the racks are Mohawk. New Coats tire equipment, multiple scanners, pico scope, Alldata, Identifix, etc.
Our tech is retiring after working here for 29 years and I need someone experienced to replace him. I'm looking for a good all around tech that can do everything from oil changes and tires to transmissions and, at least basic, troubleshooting.
For now you will be the only tech in the shop so you'll have plenty of space to work. Ideally we'll add a general service tech down the line who can be trained up. Even if we increase to 3 techs, which I don't really want to do, there will still be 2 bays for each tech.
I try to run a relaxed yet efficient shop. I'm looking for solid and steady production. We're not trying to crank out as many cars as possible. Obviously the more hours billed the better but I'm more concerned with quality work. We don't lallygag around but we're not sprinting either.
Pay based on experience but I'm looking at the $30-45/hour ballpark. The more skills you have the more you can make. If you can walk in off the street and do everything then great! If you're a competent mechanical tech looking to learn more electrical and diag than we'll get you the training you need and I'm not a slouch in that department either. If you're already a high end diagnostic tech don't expect to be doing that all day everyday. We just don't have the volume to fill the whole day with diag work.
Pertinent details:
Employer match retirement
3 weeks PTO after 90 days
health insurance available
paid training
straight hourly pay with no gimmicks
no weekends
no overtime
no diesel*
no Euro
Willing to help with relocation costs for the right tech.
*If domestic diesels are your thing and you're experienced I'd be willing to take on that market.
Thanks,
Alan
