Twine is hiring: Freelance Video Editor - Social Media Content in Chicago

Overview Join a dynamic marketing team focused on elevating brand presence for small businesses and local personalities through engaging video content. This role is ideal for a Chicago-based videographer and editor who thrives in fast-paced environments and is passionate about creating high-quality, short-form videos tailored for platforms like Instagram and TikTok. You will play a key part in a paid trial project, producing three distinct video pieces from a single session: a brand introduction reel, an opinion or hot-take clip, and a behind-the-scenes segment. The ability to direct on-camera subjects and deliver polished edits with compelling captions, cuts, and pacing is essential. Success in this project may lead to ongoing freelance opportunities as the production team expands.
Deliverables / Responsibilities Shoot and edit a 30–45 second brand introduction reel
Produce a 30–60 second opinion or hot-take video
Create a behind-the-scenes clip highlighting the production process
Direct subjects on camera to ensure authentic and engaging performances
Edit videos for optimal performance on Instagram and TikTok, including captions, dynamic cuts, and pacing
Deliver all content in a timely manner, adhering to project deadlines
Qualifications Proven experience as a videographer and video editor, preferably with a portfolio of short-form social media content
Proficiency with video editing software such as Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, or similar tools
Strong understanding of social media trends, especially for Instagram and TikTok
Ability to direct and coach on-camera talent for natural, engaging delivery
Excellent attention to detail in editing, including captions, transitions, and pacing
Reliable, self-motivated, and able to work independently
Based in Chicago, with availability for on-site shoots
Flexible schedule to accommodate project timelines and potential ongoing work
