SUMMARY:
The Band Director (Associate Director of Bands) is responsible for serving as the lead instructor for the Middle School band programwhile also functioning in a team-teaching, supportive capacity for the High School band program, including the fall marching band season. This position requires an individual who can lead and sustain a developing middle school program while collaborating closely with the Director of Bands to support a unified, sequential 6 -12 band curriculum.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
Minimum of a Bachelor's degree or higher
Valid Michigan secondary teaching certificate
Endorsement in Music (JX/JQ)
Demonstrated proficiency on multiple band instruments (woodwind, brass and/or percussion)
Willingness and ability to work extended hours during marching band season, including evenings, weekends and summer band camp
Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively as part of an instructional team
