Company Description Embrace is a non-profit, non-governmental, social entrepreneurial organization dedicated to promoting mental health as a basic human right for all individuals. Through awareness, advocacy, and accessible services, Embrace works to remove social and structural barriers to mental health care across the spectrum of need. The organization operates the National Lifeline in Lebanon (1564) for emotional support and suicide prevention, in partnership with the National Mental Health Program at the Ministry of Public Health. Embrace also runs the Embrace Mental Health Center, offering person-centered, community-based, multidisciplinary, evidence-based care, and leads CEDARS, a research hub focused on mental health data to inform policy and practice. In addition, Embrace the Workplace supports organizations in fostering better mental health and wellbeing in their work environments.
Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Script Writer role based in Lebanon, TN. The Script Writer will develop clear, engaging scripts for video content, educational materials, campaigns, and other media that support Embrace’s mental health awareness and advocacy initiatives. Daily responsibilities include researching mental health topics, crafting scripts and screenplays aligned with Embrace’s mission and tone, collaborating with program and production teams, and revising content based on feedback. The Script Writer will work closely with video production staff to ensure scripts are practical for filming and effectively convey key messages to diverse audiences. The role also involves maintaining content consistency, meeting project deadlines, and contributing creative ideas for storytelling and outreach.
Qualifications
- Candidates should possess strong Scriptwriting, Scripting, and Screenplays skills for various formats (short videos, educational content, campaigns).
- Candidates should possess Writing skills that include clear storytelling, audience-appropriate tone, and the ability to translate complex mental health topics into accessible language.
- Candidates should possess Video Production knowledge sufficient to collaborate with production teams and adapt scripts to visual and technical requirements.
- Candidates should possess research and analytical abilities to accurately represent mental health issues and align content with evidence-based practices.
- Relevant qualifications include experience in media, communications, or related fields; familiarity with mental health or social impact organizations; strong collaboration skills; and proficiency in English (additional languages are an asset).
- Bachelor’s degree in Film, Screenwriting, Communications, Psychology, or a related discipline, or equivalent practical experience is preferred.
