Stage Manager / Production & Operations Manager – National Tour
Wishing Star Productions
is seeking an experienced
Stage Manager
for the upcoming national tour of
Curious George and the Golden Meatball .
We are looking for someone who is organized, calm under pressure, kind, adaptable, and passionate about creating exceptional theatre for young audiences. Touring experience is preferred but not required.
Contract Dates
Applicants MUST be available for the following dates:
Fall Tour:
October 1 – November 17, 2026
Spring Tour:
January 8 – March 8, 2027
Please only apply if you are available for the entirety of both tour legs.
Responsibilities
The Stage Manager will serve as the central communication hub for the production and will oversee the day-to-day operation of the show.
Responsibilities include:
Calling a cue-heavy production (approximately
400+ cues )
Calling:
Lighting
Audio (wireless microphones, music playback, sound effects)
Deck cues
Operating
QLab
for audio playback
Creating and maintaining production paperwork
Running rehearsals and maintaining the calling script
Leading daily production communication with cast, crew, and venues
Managing pre-show, intermission, and post-show operations
Attending and helping supervise all load-ins and load-outs
Assisting with resetting scenery and props between performances
Maintaining production reports, schedules, and daily notes
Helping ensure consistency and quality throughout the tour
Qualifications
Ideal applicants should have experience with:
Professional stage management
Cue calling
QLab
Google Workspace (Docs, Sheets, Drive)
Touring productions (preferred)
Strong organizational and communication skills
Problem solving in fast-paced environments

The Stage Manager will travel with a company of actors and technicians and will play an essential leadership role both onstage and behind the scenes.
