Role Description

This is a full-time, on-site Sales Manager and Marketing Specialist role based in Waterford, MI. The role involves managing day-to-day sales operations, including greeting customers, understanding their boating needs, presenting inventory, preparing quotes, and closing sales. The Sales Manager and Marketing Specialist will develop and execute marketing initiatives such as digital campaigns, social media content, local advertising, and in-store promotions to drive showroom traffic and brand awareness. Responsibilities include maintaining accurate sales records, monitoring inventory, coordinating with service staff, and ensuring a high standard of customer satisfaction before and after the sale. The role also requires tracking performance metrics, analyzing market trends, and recommending strategies to increase revenue and strengthen the dealership’s presence in the local boating community.
Qualifications
Proven experience in retail or dealership sales, preferably in marine, automotive, or recreational products.
Background in marketing, including digital marketing, social media influencers, and basic content creation for promotions.
Strong customer service skills with the ability to build rapport, listen actively, and guide customers through purchase decisions.
Solid organizational and time-management abilities, with attention to detail in documentation, inventory, and follow-up.
Comfort working on-site in a showroom environment and collaborating with cross-functional teams such as service and finance.
Ability to interpret basic sales metrics and market data to support planning and decision-making.
Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, and confidence in presenting products to individuals and small groups.
Familiarity with boating or a willingness to learn marine products and industry terminology.
High school diploma or equivalent required; additional education in business, marketing, or a related field is beneficial.
Valid driver’s license and ability to work weekends or extended hours during peak boating seasons as needed.
