LOCATION Manhattan Upper East Side, New York City - in person. This is not a remote position.

Attendance at every recording with host James Goldman is required.

COMPENSATION $50-150/hour depending on experience, network, scope, and level of Commitment.

Job Description

- MOTVOICE is an evolving media platform and podcast led by James Goldman, focused on candid, substantive conversations about the people, organizations, money, ideas, leadership, management, growth, innovation, and results shaping how organizations accountably manage Jewish communal life.

- We are looking for a senior, hands-on producer with the instincts of a journalist or Communications Director and the execution discipline of an experienced podcast producer. This person should be able to decide who matters, why the conversation matters, get the right people into the room, prepare the host, and make sure every interview is professionally executed and moved toward publication.

What You Will Own

- Own the editorial calendar and interview pipeline: identify consequential guests, develop themes and angles, prioritize targets, and keep a disciplined forward schedule.

- Research guests deeply; conduct or coordinate pre-interviews; prepare concise background briefs, story angles, proposed questions, sensitivities, and follow-up opportunities for James.

- Lead outreach and relationship development from first approach through confirmation - including warm introductions, direct pitching, follow-up, calendar coordination, releases, reminders, and guest care.

- Personally attend every Manhattan recording and act as the on-site producer: coordinate the studio, videographer, audio, lighting, guest arrival, timing, run-of-show, and production readiness.

- Direct the handoff to the remote team after each recording: organize files and notes, communicate editorial priorities, review episode packaging, and keep editing, clips, titles, show notes, approvals, and publication moving.

- Maintain guest and source relationships after publication; identify follow-on interviews, introductions, written pieces, clips, distribution opportunities, and other ways each conversation can become a durable MOTVOICE media asset.

- Track what is working across guests, topics, formats, reach, and audience response and use those lessons to improve future interview strategy.

What We Are Looking For

- Strong prior experience in podcast production, journalism, communications, television/news production, documentary, public affairs, media relations, or a comparable editorial role.

- A journalist or Communications Director background is strongly preferred. Existing relationships across Jewish communal, philanthropic, business, political, cultural, or media networks are a major plus.

- Excellent editorial judgment, curiosity, persuasive writing, interviewing instincts, discretion, follow-through, and confidence communicating with senior leaders and public figures.

- Able to work independently and closely with James in person while coordinating a remote editorial and post-production team.

- U.S. CITIZEN AND DEGREE FROM A U.S. COLLEGE OR UNIVERSITY 4 YEAR DEGREE IS REQUIRED

Specialties / Software

- Editorial strategy; interview development; journalism and research; guest outreach and relations; pre-interviews; podcast production; on- site production; run-of-show; LinkedIn; Google Workspace; Google Calendar; Slack; Zoom and/or Riverside; Notion and/or Airtable; Calendly; CRM/outreach tracking; Descript; Frame.io; working familiarity with Adobe Premiere Pro or Final Cut Pro; cloud file-sharing and remote post-production workflows.

How This Role Works With the Executive & Personal Assistant

- The Senior Podcast Producer & Editorial Director is responsible MOTVOICE's editorial and interview operation. The Executive & Personal Assistant is accountable for James's executive/personal operating rhythm, priorities, calendar, and follow-through. They work as a tight two-person Manhattan operating team: shared calendars, guest logistics, recording preparation, trackers, communication channels, and handoffs to the remote team. Neither role can operate as a silo. Pilot site: www.motvoice.com | The platform is live and evolving as the business grows.
