We’re seeking a Field Marketing Manager to bridge the gap between sales and marketing in one of the most competitive cannabis markets in the country. This role focuses on elevating retail execution, increasing sell-through, and driving account success across Michigan while overseeing a team of field marketing specialists.
You will serve as the key link between the internal sales organization and retail partners, ensuring that every store visit, product launch, and marketing activation aligns with broader business goals. If you understand how to drive product movement, support sales teams, build strong retail relationships, and lead with presence in the field, this role offers significant impact and growth opportunity.
What You’ll Do
Partner with Account Executives to develop and execute go-to-market strategies across priority accounts.
Strengthen Retail Relationships
Build and maintain long-term partnerships with store leadership, buyers, and budtenders to drive loyalty and performance.
Own Your Market
Conduct regular retail visits to identify opportunities, provide hands-on support, and ensure consistent execution.
Assess stock levels, optimize displays, and ensure product visibility and presentation meet brand standards.
Audit, Capture, Communicate
Document displays, promotions, and in-store activations while delivering clean, actionable reporting to internal stakeholders.
Lead the Field Team
Hire, train, and manage a team of field marketing specialists. Develop route plans, assign goals, and drive accountability and performance.
Activate Marketing Initiatives
Ensure marketing materials, signage, and promotional assets are deployed accurately and maintained across accounts.
Educate Retail Staff
Lead product education sessions and provide ongoing training to store teams to improve product knowledge and conversion.
Deliver Market Insights
Provide competitive intelligence, customer feedback, and retail insights to inform sales and marketing strategy.
Track Performance
Maintain accurate CRM reporting of visits, events, and activations to ensure territory performance is measurable and transparent.
What You’ll Need
Must be 21+ with a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
Based in Michigan
Deep understanding of the Michigan cannabis retail landscape
Prior cannabis industry experience or strong familiarity with cannabis culture and compliance highly preferred
3+ years of field marketing, trade marketing, or sales support experience (cannabis or CPG preferred)
Experience managing field teams or brand ambassador programs
Strong leadership, communication, and relationship-building skills
Highly organized with strong reporting and time management abilities
Comfortable working a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends
Able to lift 40 to 50 pounds and provide hands-on retail support
Communicate confidently with buyers and retail staff
Enjoy building processes and teams from the ground up
Thrive in fast-moving, field-based roles
Lead with integrity, accountability, and a solutions-oriented mindset
