This job is within the American Airlines Credit Union. This role develops and executes strategic internal communications that inform and engage Credit Union team members while fostering connection, understanding and a shared sense of purpose. The role is also responsible for creating clear, compelling storytelling across multiple channels, including the intranet, email, digital signage, presentations and visual communications. In addition, this role partners with leaders and business teams to translate priorities, initiatives and organizational changes into timely, relevant and easy-to-understand communications.
What you'll do

Strategic Communications:
Develop and execute communication strategies, plans and campaigns that support organizational goals and team member engagement, determining the appropriate message, audience, timing, channel and format for key initiatives, announcements and organizational changes
Partner with leaders and subject matter experts to provide communications counsel, shape messaging and develop materials such as talking points, presentations, FAQs, toolkits and announcements that are relevant, accurate and consistent
Translate complex business, operational and technology topics into clear, actionable communications tailored to target audiences
Content Development:
Create, edit and publish content across internal communication channels, including the intranet, email, digital signage, presentations and other digital and visual platforms
Develop compelling stories and messaging that support strategic initiatives, culture, change management, recognition milestones and team member engagement
Maintain editorial calendars and ensure a consistent voice, tone and brand across all communications
Create visually engaging, brand-aligned communication materials that enhance understanding and engagement
Explore and implement new channels, formats and multimedia opportunities to improve reach and effectiveness
Engagement and Collaboration:
Manage communication projects and campaigns that strengthen culture, support organizational priorities and drive awareness
Foster two-way communication by creating opportunities for team member feedback, engagement and collaboration
Monitor communication effectiveness through feedback, metrics and channel performance data, and recommend improvements
Build strong relationships across the organization to support effective communication planning and execution
Event Communication and Facilitation:
Support the promotion, communication and execution of team member events, recognition programs and engagement activities
Provide event communications and coordination support as needed to help deliver a positive team member experience
Plus additional duties as assigned
The selected candidate will be responsible for ensuring the security and confidentiality of all account and related information which is part of their work and for ensuring that his/her work is in compliance with all applicable laws and regulations including, but not limited to, the Bank Secrecy Act.
All you'll need for success

Minimum Qualifications- Education & Prior Job Experience
Bachelor's degree in Communications, Public Relations, or Journalism, or equivalent relevant experience
Experience developing branded graphics and visual communications using Adobe Creative Suite or Canva
Preferred Qualifications- Education & Prior Job Experience
Two or more years of experience in internal communications, corporate communications, public relations or a related field
Strong writing, editing and storytelling skills, with the ability to translate complex information into clear, engaging team member communications
Previous Credit Union or financial services industry experience
Skills, Licenses & Certifications
Skilled in Microsoft Office software (e.g., Word, Excel, PowerPoint) gained through either work experience with the software or education and hands-on use of the software
Outstanding written communications skills, both creative and technical
Strong people skills, with the ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing with all levels of staff and management
Ability to successfully manage multiple assignments and competing deadlines
Ability to demonstrate solid project management skills
Ability to perform with immaculate attention to detail
Ability to adjust work schedule and work additional hours as needed to support business needs
Ability to maintain satisfactory performance and attendance
Ability to pass applicable American Airlines and Credit Unionpre-hire compliance checks
