Description

Your Role

Our Assistant Designer is an individual contributor responsible for assisting with the creation of commercially viable product designs across collections. Coordinates and delivers brand-right designs that tie back to the overall concept and business strategy; encompassing style, color/print, fit and function for new/existing product lines. Applies a solid working knowledge of fashion trends and consumer needs to product designs. Demonstrates a passion for the brand, inspires individuals and relies on limited experience to plan and accomplish goals. Takes direction under immediate supervision, exercising a minimal degree of scope/decision making.
Your Impact

Assist the design team in the creation of brand-right, commercial designs that reflect the conceptual direction/business strategy
Deliver design sketches/prototypes and provide clear specifications for construction
Build and maintain the sample room
Create flat sketches, CAD images, and tech packs to scale.
Prepare design team for routine and milestone meetings, including the coordination of line presentation boards/tableaus and selection of product samples
Communicate ongoing development details to internal partners (i.e. Production, Tech, Merchants) and vendors, ensuring all communication is flowing to the correct people
Partner with technical design on function and execution of prototypes.
Track and organize development samples, ensuring they are delivered within required timelines and seamlessly passed off to key parties
Attend routine team meetings and key partner alignment sessions
Adapt designs based on feedback, incorporating for finalization
Apply processes to understand/anticipate the needs of the customer in order to exceed customer expectations and readily react to their needs
Utilize resources in sourcing new ideas, both internally and externally, and stay up to date on competitor research/trend analysis
Communicate point of view clearly through mood boards and concept tears
Achieve set goals with acute attention-to-detail, tracking progress & anticipating potential issues
Pursue/embrace opportunities to personally grow and develop skills/competencies
Develop and understand the VS eye/brand identity and specific category
Build and maintain effective relations with key partners
Minimum Salary:

$66,700.00
Maximum Salary:

$85,785.00
VS&Co provides a range of compensation for this role as shown. Your actual salary will be determined by a number of factors, including: your specific skills and experience, geographic region, or other relevant factors.
Qualifications

Your Experience

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
Entry level with some design experience in a comparable retail environment
Microsoft Office, Illustrator, Photoshop, and InDesign proficiency; Centric a plus
Exceptional talent with a commercial fashion eye and detail in product styling/performance
Exceptional organizational skills
Ability to recall information
Customer service philosophy
Collaborative partner with a team-oriented approach
Highly motivated, passionate and results oriented
Solid communication and presentation skills
Solid understanding and ability to communicate construction instructions
