Job Description
The Audio Visual Technician (AV Tech) is responsible for providing technical audio, visual, lighting, and presentation support for high school programs, events, meetings, and activities. The AV Tech ensures that audio visual equipment and systems are properly prepared, operated, and maintained to support the effective delivery of school events and programs.
The AV Tech works collaboratively with teachers, administrators, counselors, the Performing Arts Department, and other school personnel to provide professional and reliable technical support for assemblies, counseling department events, town meetings, staff and community meetings, presentations, and other school functions.
Set up, operate, and break down microphones, sound systems, projectors, lighting systems, and other audio visual equipment.
Operate the school's lighting board and related lighting control systems for events and performances.
Set up and operate projection and presentation equipment.
Provide technical support before, during, and after school events and programs.
Work with teachers, administrators, counselors, and other staff to identify and meet audio visual needs.
Troubleshoot routine audio, lighting, projection, and presentation equipment issues.
Ensure AV equipment is properly stored, maintained, and ready for future use.
Assist with the coordination and execution of assemblies, town meetings, counseling department events, meetings, presentations, performances, and other school functions.
Follow established safety procedures and appropriate practices when operating and handling AV equipment.
Perform other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Successful completion of the
Audio, Lighting and Control System Specialist
course.
Demonstrated knowledge of audio, lighting, projection, and related AV systems.
Ability to safely and effectively operate microphones, lighting boards, projectors, sound systems, and other presentation equipment.
Strong organizational, communication, and troubleshooting skills.
Ability to work collaboratively with students, teachers, administrators, and other school personnel.
Ability to work independently and respond effectively to the technical needs of scheduled school events.
Dependable, professional, and attentive to detail.
Compensation:
$16.00 per hour
