Momentum Cuts Staff in St. Louis

We’ve been hearing about it since yesterday and now it’s confirmed that Momentum has had to let go of staffers in St. Louis as part of a direct effect of losing the Sea World account to Draftfcb a month ago. A spokesperson for the IPG media agency, which worked on the theme park’s business alongside DDB for nearly a decade, tells us, “We have completed a restructuring tied to the previously reported  loss of the SeaWorld business in our St Louis office. We can’t disclose any further details, out of respect to the people involved, but had to make difficult decisions in light of understandable economic concerns and  with an eye on our future growth – in a market where we have a lot of great talent, capabilities and potential.”

While the agency itself wouldn’t reveal numbers, we’re hearing from tipsters that the range is 20-30 and that the cuts began as of last week.
