Knopf Books for Young Readers Seeks New Senior Editor

If you’re young at heart, we may have found your dream job. Knopf Books for Young Readers is looking for a new senior editor to join its New York team.

In this role, you’ll solicit, acquire, evaluate and develop manuscripts and proposals for picture books, middle grade and young adult fiction and non-fiction. Sharp negotiators will do well here, as you’ll be working out the purchase of manuscripts with current and new authors and agents. Of course, you’ll prep cover copy and coordinate editorial production and publication schedules, too.

Those with five to seven years of children’s book publishing experience and three to five years as an editor are most wanted. Ideally, you’ll have your finger on the pulse of market trends, and know what the competition is up to. Those with exceptional editing skills and great contacts should apply here.
