MSNBC Media Relations Director Named VP at CW

Alana Russo has joined The CW as VP of corporate communications in the Burbank, CA office. Among her responsibilities, she will handle outreach to the trade and business press relating to network execs, marketing strategies, digital efforts, and other areas. Russo will report to Paul Hewitt, SVP of network communications.

Previously, she was senior director of media relations for MSNBC based in New York. In the role, which she held since 2007, she worked on network communications strategy, including messaging for interviews and managing publicity for the network’s primetime programming and ratings. She worked on programs like The Rachel Maddow Show and the 2008 Presidential election.
