As an award-winning journalist, author and editor I focus on business, health, science, environment, education, families, lifestyles, parenting, profiles, real estate and social issues. As both a magazine editor and publisher, I’ve managed editorial products from the concept stage to distribution: assigning, editing and writing; managing art and production teams; trafficking; interfacing with printers; and managing advertising sales teams. I’m an excellent mentor who can create editorial teams who work cohesively to produce award-winning content. In addition, I’m the author of 40 nonfiction books, a ghostwriter, and a journalism professor.

Other Work History

I was publisher/owner of my own magazine, Long Island Parent, and website, liparentonline.come, for five years until I sold them in August 2012. I continued to work with the company for two years and founded a new magazine with them. Since then I have managed editorial projects, including magazines, websites and brochures for Stony Brook University, Adelphi University, Bonnier Corporation (Working Mother magazine), New Jersey Family magazine, Expos Your Business, Queens Chamber of Commerce, Island Federal Credit Union, USTA, Blank Slate Media, KGG Enterprises, and Family Caregiver Magazine. I am also a senior adjunct journalism professor and faculty newspaper adviser. Further, I am the author of 42 books, including children's books and How to Publish Your Children's Book, 2nd edition. I am also a frequent quest speaker at events, and on radio and TV programs.
