What you'll do

Leads and develops teams by teaching, training, and actively listening to associates; touring stores and providing feedback; communicating and collaborating with all levels of associates regarding store operations, merchandising, and company direction; introducing and leading company change efforts; providing clear expectations and guidance to implement business solutions and communicate business objectives to teams. Models exceptional customer service standards by following and demonstrating the One Best Way service model; manages and supports customer service initiatives and community programs; develops action plans to correct deficiencies and provides process improvement leadership to ensure a high quality customer experience. Drives financial performance by reviewing PL statements, budgeting, forecasting, and controlling expenses; ensures effective merchandise presentation, seasonal transitions, and inventory flow; develops and implements action plans to mitigate shrink and achieve sales and profit goals. Provides supervision and development opportunities for hourly associates, including hiring, training, mentoring, assigning duties, recognizing performance, and promoting a belonging mindset. Coordinates and oversees job-related activities with key stakeholders to meet customer and business needs, builds accountability, and promotes continuous learning. Ensures compliance with policies and supports Walmart values and integrity; fosters a culture of belonging, collaboration, and ethical conduct. Promotes talent attraction, development, and recognition; acts with integrity and customer focus; drives continuous improvement and adoption of new technologies.

Qualifications

• Minimum Qualifications: 2 years’ college OR 1 year’s retail experience and 1 year’s supervisory experience OR 2 years’ general work experience and 1 year’s supervisory experience.
• For facilities that sell firearms: successful completion of a firearms-specific CBC and firearms training.
• For facilities that sell only ammunition: may require a current state-issued Certificate of Eligibility.
• Associates must attend and complete all required trainings and assessments (e.g., Academy trainings, Open Door trainings).

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Business Management and Leadership via Live Better U and Bellevue University; Certificate of Completion in People and Business Leadership via Live Better U and Bellevue University; experience supervising 5+ direct reports, including performance management, mentoring, hiring, and firing.
