Position Summary

Leads and develops teams effectively by teaching, training, and actively listening to associates. Tours stores and provides feedback. Communicates and collaborates with all levels of associates regarding store operations, utilizing technology, business initiatives, merchandising, and company direction. Introduces and leads company change efforts, providing clear expectations and guidance to implement business solutions and communicate business objectives to teams effectively. Models and demonstrates exceptional customer service standards to store associates by following and demonstrating the One Best Way (OBW) service model. Manages and supports customer service initiatives, including community outreach programs, ensuring customer needs, complaints, and issues are addressed successfully. Develops and implements action plans to correct deficiencies and provides process improvement leadership to ensure a high-quality customer experience.

Drives the financial performance and sales of the designated store area by reviewing and evaluating profit and loss statements, managing budgets, forecasting, and controlling expenses. Monitors and ensures effective merchandise presentation, seasonal transitions, inventory flow, and operational processes. Develops and implements action plans to mitigate shrink and achieve sales and profit goals. Provides supervision and development opportunities for hourly associates through hiring, training, mentoring, assigning duties, setting expectations, recognizing achievements, and promoting a culture of belonging. Coordinates and oversees job-related activities by developing relationships with stakeholders, supporting plans and initiatives, and measuring progress.

Ensures compliance with company policies and supports the company's mission, values, and standards of ethics and integrity. Implements related action plans, supports the Open Door Policy, and provides guidance on applying these principles in business practices. Builds high-performing teams, embraces diversity, and creates a workplace where associates feel supported and connected. Attracts, retains, and develops talent, recognizing contributions and accomplishments. Acts with integrity, maintaining high standards of ethics and compliance, and models Walmart values. Supports and fosters a culture of belonging, eliminates waste, and participates in community giving.

Delivers results by prioritizing customer needs, making data-driven decisions, and balancing short-term and long-term goals. Drives continuous improvement, adopts new technologies, and supports change. Requires a minimum of 2 years of college, or 1 year of retail experience with 1 year of supervisory experience, or 2 years of general work experience with 1 year of supervisory experience. For firearm-selling facilities, successful completion of a criminal background check and firearms training is required. Associates must attend and complete all required trainings and assessments.

Preferred qualifications include a Bachelor of Science in Business Management and Leadership or a Certificate of Completion in People and Business Leadership, along with experience supervising five or more direct reports, including performance management, mentoring, hiring, and firing.
