Responsibilities include: Delivering direct instruction and services once per week to each of 5 students with visual impairments Conducting Braille transcriptions and preparing accessible materials tailored to individual student needs Collaborating with educators and support staff to integrate visual impairment accommodations into classroom activities Assisting with the transition and implementation of new assistive technology tools, including the VOCO system Monitoring student progress and maintaining detailed records to inform instructional planning Desired Experience and Skills: Certification or licensure as a Teacher of the Visually Impaired (TVI) Experience working with blind or low vision students in a K-12 environment Proficiency in Braille transcription and assistive technology applications Strong communication and organizational skills to manage scheduling and documentation for multiple students Ability to collaborate effectively with teachers, therapists, and families Location: Madison, Indiana (K-12 school) This part-time contract position offers the chance to impact visually impaired students' educational experiences by providing specialized, individualized support.
