FAR INSPECTIONS is seeking a
Mortgage Field Services Inspector
to perform residential occupancy verifications on behalf of mortgage lenders in Reno, NV.
Job Overview Independent contractor role with predictable full‑time or supplemental income and a flexible schedule. Prior mortgage inspection experience is not required; the ability to manage time, meet deadlines, and work independently is essential.
Responsibilities
Verify property occupancy.
Report on general property condition using a mobile application.
Take 9+ photos of the property with brief comments.
Complete a short form in the app.
Finish inspections within 4 days after assignment.
Most exterior inspections require only 5‑6 minutes.
Drive extended periods, making multiple stops across the assigned territory.
Requirements
Computer with an internet connection.
Reliable vehicle (good gas mileage is a plus; fuel costs are paid by the inspector).
Smartphone (Android or iPhone).
Printer.
Valid driver’s license and a standard background check clearance.
Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
Pay & Hours This is a 1099 contractor position. Each inspection has a flat rate that varies by county and volume. Expected earnings are approximately $30‑$40 per hour. Inspectors may complete anywhere from 20 to 500 inspections per month, working 2‑30 hours per week. No mileage reimbursement is provided beyond the flat fee per inspection.
