Job Summary
FAR Inspections is seeking highly motivated independent contractors to perform residential occupancy verifications for mortgage lenders in the Reno, NV area.
Experience with mortgage field inspections is not required; strong time‑management and deadline‑meeting skills are essential.
Contractors enjoy a predictable full‑time or supplemental income and a flexible schedule.
What is an Occupancy Verification? Mortgage lenders send independent contractors to periodically verify property occupancy status and report general property condition using a mobile application.
Responsibilities
Conduct most inspections in 5–6 minutes.
Complete inspections within 4 days of assignment.
Report general property conditions and determine occupancy based on industry standards.
Take 9+ photos of the property with brief comments.
Fill out a short form in the mobile app.
Travel locally for inspections; extended driving periods may be required.
Requirements
Computer with reliable internet connection.
Reliable vehicle with good gas mileage (you’ll pay your own gas).
Smartphone (Android or iPhone).
Printer.
Pass a standard background check with a valid driver’s license.
Pay and Hours This is a 1099 position. Each inspection is paid at a flat rate that varies by county and volume. Contractors can earn the equivalent of
$–$40 per hour.
Depending on county, you may complete 20–500 inspections per month working 2–30 hours per week. Lower‑volume counties offer higher rates; higher‑volume counties offer lower rates. Pay scales with experience, availability, and territory size.
No additional mileage reimbursement beyond the flat fee per inspection.
