FAR INSPECTIONS
FAR INSPECTIONS is seeking a Mortgage Field Services Inspector to perform residential occupancy verifications on behalf of mortgage lenders in the Reno, NV area.
Independent contractors can enjoy a flexible schedule, predictable income and the opportunity to work full‑time or supplemental hours. Experience with mortgage field inspections is not required, but the ability to manage time, meet deadlines, and complete drives for inspections is essential.
What is an Occupancy Verification? Mortgage lenders require periodic updates on their properties. Inspections verify property occupancy and report the general condition of the property using a mobile application. Most inspections are exterior only, and about 10% require interior photos after the property has gone vacant.
Responsibilities
Most inspections take 5–6 minutes.
Complete the inspection within 4 days after assignment.
Report general property conditions and determine occupancy based on industry standards.
Take 9+ photos of the property with brief comments.
Complete a short form in the app.
Spend extended periods driving while making multiple stops during the day in the assigned territory.
Requirements
Computer with an internet connection.
Reliable vehicle (good gas mileage is a plus as you pay for your own gas).
Smartphone (Android or iPhone).
Printer.
Pass a standard background check using a valid driver’s license.
Pay and Hours This is a 1099 position. Each inspection has a flat rate that varies by county and volume. Although you are paid per inspection, you can earn the equivalent of $30–$40 per hour.
Depending on the county’s urban or rural nature, you may complete anywhere from 20–500 inspections per month, working 2–30 hours per week. Lower volume counties have higher rates, while higher volume counties have lower rates. The work is consistent month to month, and you can earn more as you become established or cover a larger territory.
No additional mileage reimbursement is provided above the flat fee per inspection.
