Overview
We’re seeking a Deli Clerk to prepare and cook meals in a professional kitchen. As one of the fastest growing natural foods retailers, Sprouts Farmers Market is looking for team members who are passionate about food and enjoy sharing that passion with customers. Responsibilities
Assist customers in making healthy food choices by preparing “fresh and easy meals.” Provide a high level of customer service and ensure that deli items are properly prepared, packaged, presented, and kept clean. Fill, maintain, and rotate products and displays. Prepare special orders and party trays. Operate meat and cheese slicers, ovens, microwaves, cutting tools, scales, and other deli equipment following company standards and procedures. Maintain a clean, safe, and sanitary deli area and equipment, including cleaning shelves, products, floors, and removing hazardous debris. Receive, inspect, and log products for accuracy of shipment, temperature, and quality. Qualifications
At least 18 years old with a high school diploma or equivalent and experience in grocery, restaurant, or related field, or an acceptable combination of education and experience. Dependable and reliable. Friendly and outgoing with a positive attitude and ability to interact with customers. Ability to work a flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays. Good communication skills; ability to take direction and participate in a team environment. Ability to answer phones and take special orders. Able to lift/carry product horizontally/vertically up to 70 lbs. up to 20 feet without mechanical assistance for up to four hours. Can stand continuously for up to eight hours per shift. Perform general housekeeping in the department; clean and sanitize work area. Operate slicer, wrapping, and cooking equipment; assist in maintaining all equipment in safe working condition. Adhere to safety, health, Weights and Measures regulations, and maintain a Food Handlers permit. Work in different temperature environments (cooler and freezer). Other related duties as assigned. Pay Range
The pay range for this position is $19.70–$26.57 per hour, based on experience and qualifications. Benefits
