Employment Requirement: Criminal Background Check - C4
Division/Department: Human Resources
Location: Albany Campus, Albany, OR
Job Summary: This position performs a variety of administrative office duties.
Required Qualifications Education and Experience:
Must maintain enrollment in at least 6 credits at LBCC, maintain satisfactory academic progress throughout each term, maintain a cumulative grade point average of 2.0 or better, and have financial aid in place to be eligible to work in a Work Study student employee capacity at Linn-Benton Community College.
Knowledge and Skills:
Requires knowledge of general clerical/secretarial practices. Proficient computer skills including Microsoft Word, Excel, Google Drive, and email. Ability to communicate professionally with a variety of people. Self‑motivated, able to work cooperatively and independently with attention to detail, and accuracy. Must be a self‑starter, organized and have good planning skills. Must have strong communication, customer relations, and phone skills.
Abilities:
Must be able to communicate with faculty, staff and students, work well independently and with others. Able to interact sensitively and effectively with individuals from diverse backgrounds.
Preferred Qualifications Students pursuing a degree or work in HR, Business, Psychology or similar preferred.
Physical Requirements and Working Conditions Physical Skills and Abilities:
Must be able to operate a computer and/or other office equipment.
May occasionally lift light to medium weight items, with or without assistance.
Working Conditions:
Work is performed indoors with no exposure to safety and health hazards. Considerable time may be spent working at a computer.
Responsibilities
Assist with the reception desk. Greet students, faculty, staff and visitors. Maintain a welcoming environment by answering questions about services and resources, answering phones and directing calls and/or taking messages, scheduling appointments for staff, and referring students/public to appropriate campus departments.
Works on general organizing projects, updating bulletin board displays, taking inventory of materials and books, and shredding documents.
Performs other duties as assigned.
