About the Role
The Company is seeking an Executive Director for its Foundation. The successful candidate will be responsible for the execution of a diverse fund development strategy, including prospect research, major gifts, annual giving, and corporate giving. This role also involves Foundation board recruitment and oversight, as well as working with administrative staff on events and college personnel to ensure best practices for the management of Foundation resources. The Executive Director must have excellent written and oral communication skills, effective project management, and organizational skills, and will provide leadership for the Foundation's activities.
Candidates for the Executive Director position must have a Bachelor's degree in a relevant field and at least three years of advancement or development experience, preferably in higher education or the non-profit sector. A Certified Fund-Raising Executive (CFRE) certification is a preferred qualification. The role requires knowledge of best practices for fundraising, government and non-profit budgeting, and current trends in Foundations. The Executive Director will also be expected to have a strong understanding of the mission, goals, and strategic plan of the college, as well as the ability to promote a common purpose consistent with the college's goals and demonstrate a commitment to students and the learning environment.
