Cultivation - Fertigation/IPM Associate (Agriculture) JOB DESCRIPTION: Fertigation & Integrated Pest Management Specialist

The Fertigation and Integrated Pest Management Specialist is responsible for ensuring the irrigation and fertilizing systems are in proper working order and crops are provided with accurate and timely fertigation. Additionally, the specialist is responsible for scouting all cultivation rooms, applying IPM products, and adhering to the IPM schedule set forth by the management team.

Responsibilities

Adhere to the Integrated Pest Management Program to ensure we maintain pests and diseases below economic impact in our crops.

Daily monitoring and scouting for pests and diseases.

Log all sprays in accordance with local and state laws to remain compliant.

Performs routine safety inspections on all spraying equipment.

Reports any equipment malfunctions that the agent cannot repair.

Ability to train cultivation staff in pest and disease recognition.

Monitor plants for any sign of wilting or other deficiencies which may require immediate attention.

Ensure all plants have been accurately and successfully watered/fed.

Maintain accurate records of reservoirs, equipment, and other crop-related logs.

In conjunction with the cultivation staff, identify and repair issues with emitter lines, pumps, tanks, lines, workstations, etc.

Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations.

Additional duties as assigned by management.

Employment Requirements

Have a valid driver's license and a good driving record, and proof of insurance.

Reliable transportation.

Adaptability and willingness to work flexible hours.

Must be 21 years of age.

High school diploma or equivalent.

Job Qualifications

Knowledgeable of plant pests and disease identification.

Experience or exposure to the green industry (agriculture or horticulture).

Work with a high level of independence.

Ability to work a flexible schedule, including periodic weekends.

Interact and work with all levels within the company and with third parties, such as colleagues from other facilities, suppliers, and other related parties.

Communicate effectively, both verbally and written in English.

Physical Demands

Ability to communicate orally with management and other co-workers is crucial.

Standing for extended periods is common.

Hearing and vision within normal ranges are essential for everyday conversations, receiving ordinary information, and preparing or inspecting documents.

Some heavy lifting may be required.

Exertion of up to 50 lbs. of force will be required.

Work Environment

The job is performed indoors.

Must be able to work in hot, humid environments for extended periods.

Activities include extended periods of standing, kneeling, stooping, and bending.

Twisting in tight areas may also be required at times.
