
Business Development Director - Retail

The Business Development Director is a key growth and transformation role within the organization’s Market Unit. The position is responsible for driving new business acquisition across target industries, with a primary focus on winning new clients. This is a pure‑play sales role that requires proactive demand generation, consultative selling, and close collaboration with internal teams to create and convert qualified opportunities. The candidate will leverage the organization’s full portfolio of services and solutions to establish relationships and secure new logos.
Responsibilities
- Drive the end‑to‑end new logo sales cycle — from prospect identification to proposal development, negotiation, and deal closure within the assigned territory.
- Achieve growth targets by originating deals, generating demand, and providing thought leadership to prospects throughout their buying journey in the Retail sector .
- Conduct in‑person meetings, attend industry conferences, and deliver virtual presentations to articulate solution value.
- Create new business opportunities and help shape large, transformational deals within the Retail vertical.
- Build a strong understanding of the client’s business landscape and industry dynamics in the Retail domain.
- Bring together cross‑functional teams to structure innovation‑led partnerships with prospective clients.
- Drive business impact for clients through the organization’s portfolio of services, solutions, and capabilities.
- Establish and nurture senior‑level (CXO) relationships to build market momentum in the assigned territory.
Qualifications
- 12–15 years of overall sales experience, with substantial experience in the Retail industry .
- Prior experience in a leading IT services or consulting environment, with demonstrated ability to collaborate across global teams.
- Direct industry background within Retail companies is an added advantage.
