Summary

SUMMARY:

The Senior Director of Employee Relations & Leadership Effectiveness provides enterprise-wide strategic leadership for employee relations, performance management, and leadership development within a complex healthcare organization. This role serves as a key member of the Human Resources leadership team and partners closely with executive leadership, clinical leaders, and HR colleagues to strengthen accountability, compliance, engagement, and workforce stability. The Senior Director exercises significant independent judgment in managing high-risk workforce matters and is responsible for the design, implementation, and ongoing evaluation of a formal, enterprise leadership development program. This role ensures adherence to healthcare employment laws and regulatory standards while fostering a culture of trust, consistency, and high performance across clinical and non-clinical environments. The ideal candidate is a trusted leader and advisor with deep experience in healthcare employee relations, performance management, and leadership development, and is skilled at navigating ambiguity, competing priorities, and high-pressure situations with sound judgment and discretion. EXPERIENCE:

10+ years progressive HR or healthcare leadership experience, including responsibility for employee relations, investigations, leader coaching, and culture-building. Proven ability to navigate complex and sensitive workplace situations in a dynamic, high-pressure environment with discretion and sound judgment. SPECIAL SKILLS:

Experience working within a healthcare environment (hospital system, multi-site healthcare network, or large medical group). Demonstrated experience conducting and overseeing complex, high-level workplace investigations. Strong working knowledge of employment law and healthcare regulatory requirements. Demonstrated experience leading and developing teams. OTHER:

Clinical healthcare background. Experience supporting physician practices and clinical leadership teams. SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP (Society of HR Management - Certified Professional or Senior Certified Professional) within 1 year of hire EDUCATION:

Required: Bachelors - Human Resources, Bachelors - Business Administration, Bachelors - Health Administration, Bachelors - Related Field; Preferred: Masters - Health Administration, Masters - Human Resources, Masters - Related Field
