Accounts Receivable / Collections Specialist (Temp-to-Perm)
Location: Clifton, New Jersey
100% On-Site Pay: $26$28/hour Schedule: 40 hours/week with 1-hour lunch About the Role: Join a growing finance team of six at a well-established business with over 100 years of success. This is a new position created due to growth and focuses on business-to-business collections. This temp-to-perm opportunity is ideal for a self-starter who demonstrates strong critical thinking, can work independently, and thrives in a fast-paced environment. Key Responsibilities: Monitor and review assigned accounts, emphasizing delinquent accounts beyond terms or credit limits. Contact customers via phone, email, and written correspondence to secure payments within established terms and credit limits. Maintain accurate computer records, dunning notes, and account documentation. Release orders based on sound business judgment and account receivable status. Resolve unapplied payments and billing discrepancies, including pricing, tax, cylinder, lease, or late payment issues. Prepare and execute payment arrangements or settlements as needed. Provide account analysis and communicate effectively with customers, management, and internal/external sales teams. Work to increase adoption of electronic invoicing and automatic credit card billing among assigned accounts. Deliver professional verbal and written communication across all levels of the organization. Collaborate effectively with the team and perform related duties as assigned. Qualifications: Minimum of 3 years of progressive collections experience, preferably in a first-party collection role. Strong critical thinking and ability to work independently. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written. Experience with B2B collections and account analysis preferred.
