Qualifications:
Education/Certification:
- Master's degree with emphasis in education and/or a career and technical education program area
- Administrative, Mid Management and Principal certification required
- Teaching certificate required
- Working knowledge of federal and state code governing career and technical education
- Understanding of curriculum and instruction
- Ability to evaluate instructional programs and teaching effectiveness
- Ability to manage budget and personnel
- Ability to coordinate district functions
- Ability to interpret data
- Ability to implement policy and procedures
- Ability to supervise, plan, and present staff development
- Ability to work with professionals from a variety of industries
- Ability to develop business partnerships
- Strong organizational, communication, public relations, and interpersonal skills
- Five years career and technical education classroom teaching experience preferred
- Two years campus or district leadership experience required
Instructional Program Management
- Oversee the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of Career and Technical Education (CTE) programs to ensure alignment with student needs, workforce demands, and district goals.
- Develop and maintain CTE curriculum, instructional resources, assessments, and program admission criteria aligned with industry standards and district expectations.
- Ensure curriculum renewal and program improvement based on student performance data, labor market trends, and stakeholder feedback.
- Oversee the selection and use of instructional materials, textbooks, and equipment that support program implementation.
- Conduct ongoing evaluation of CTE programs using student outcomes, teacher input, community feedback, and research to determine effectiveness and recommend improvements.
- Design and coordinate program needs assessments to guide program development and instructional improvement.
- Assist in establishing and reviewing district goals and objectives related to career and technical education.
- Provide and coordinate professional learning opportunities for CTE staff based on program needs and data analysis.
- Provide campuses with career exploration resources, assessments, and awareness materials.
- Support the development of campus master schedules to ensure student access to CTE courses and pathways.
- Observe classroom instruction and provide feedback to support instructional improvement and innovation; participate in implementation of the district teacher appraisal system.
- Ensure CTE facilities, materials, and equipment are available, maintained, and aligned with program requirements.
- Disseminate current information and guidance related to academic planning for college, career, and military readiness.
- Maintain a data dashboard to monitor CCMR indicators and student progress toward readiness outcomes.
- Maintain district CCMR resources and information on the district website for students, staff, and families.
- Collaborate with district departments and campuses to ensure equitable student access to CCMR pathway completion.
- Assist with collecting, preparing, and submitting local and state reports related to CCMR indicators.
- Attend professional learning opportunities and conferences to remain current on CCMR standards and postsecondary workforce trends.
- Implement policies established by federal and state law, State Board of Education rules, and local board policy.
- Compile, maintain, and submit required reports, records, and documentation.
- Monitor and review PEIMS CTE coding for staff and students to ensure accuracy and compliance.
- Recommend policy improvements that strengthen CTE program implementation.
- Follow district safety protocols and emergency procedures.
- Develop and administer the CTE budget based on program needs while ensuring cost-effective operations.
- Coordinate and submit the Perkins Grant application and Perkins Effectiveness Report in compliance with federal guidelines.
- Supervise and approve Perkins-funded purchases aligned with required program priorities.
- Ensure compliance with state spending requirements for CTE allotment funds.
- Maintain an inventory of CTE equipment and supplies and recommend replacement or disposal when appropriate.
- Maintain open lines of communication with principals, teachers, counselors, parents, and community partners.
- Monitor professional research and disseminate relevant information and best practices to staff.
- Assist administrators and counselors with career and college readiness information for students.
- Assist with development of the district course selection guide for CTE programs.
- Support the planning and implementation of district career fairs, expos, and related events.
- Establish and maintain partnerships with local businesses, community organizations, and industry representatives.
- Coordinate internship, job shadowing, mentoring, and work-based learning opportunities for students.
- Coordinate CTE advisory committees to support program relevance and industry alignment.
- Promote community and parent involvement in CTE programs through outreach events and campus activities.
- Represent the district at community events, booster meetings, and parent information sessions.
- Assist with the recruitment, selection, training, and placement of CTE personnel.
- Collaborate with campus and district leaders to support the success of CTE staff and programs.
- Assist in preparing, reviewing, and revising job descriptions related to CTE programs and staff.
