What we're looking for: Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent combination of education and experience preferred 5+ years in employee/labor relations or a related HR field preferred Experience in complex investigations, grievance handling, contract negotiations, and mediation Knowledge of employment, wage and hour, and labor law or relations experience a plus JD or HR certification (PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP) a plus Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; HR systems experience (Workday, Meditech, or API) a bonus Who you are: A strategic thinker with strong analytical and critical thinking skills Highly emotionally intelligent you read the room, build trust, and navigate conflict with confidence An exceptional writer and communicator who can translate complex situations into clear documentation Calm, professional, and composed under pressure even when facing resistance Passionate about organizational development, team building, and collaboration Organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple priorities independently What you'll do: Lead complex, impartial workplace investigations involving policy violations, harassment, discrimination, and grievances Deliver well-written, defensible reports with clear, actionable recommendations Stay composed and objective even in the face of resistance or high-pressure situations Support contract negotiations, mediation, grievance resolution, and NLRB proceedings Collaborate across teams to find common ground and move difficult conversations forward Address root causes behind workplace issues not just the symptoms Facilitate coaching, team interventions, and leadership development to build stronger, more cohesive teams Serve as a go-to partner for managers on employee relations, policy interpretation, and labor law compliance Navigate sensitive, high-stakes situations with tact, professionalism, and emotional intelligence Contribute to policy development and stay current on employment laws and collective bargaining agreements Collaborate with legal counsel on labor disputes and employment-related matters Produce clear, accurate written documentation for legal and compliance purposes Apply critical thinking and analytical rigor to identify trends and uncover root causes Recommend proactive programs that improve workplace culture, engagement, and retention Shift: Day Shift - 8 Hours (United States of America) Schedule: Logan Health operates 24 hours per day, seven days per week. Schedules are set to accommodate the requirements of the position and the needs of the organization and may be adjusted as needed. Billings Clinic is Montana's largest health system serving Montana, Wyoming, and the western Dakotas. A not-for-profit organization led by a physician CEO, the health system is governed by a board of community members, nurses, and physicians.
