
Loan Processor / Junior Underwriter

About the Role
We are looking for a highly organized, detail-driven Loan Processor with strong underwriting knowledge and loan processing expertise. The ideal candidate has experience working with conventional loans, clearing conditions, analyzing credit, and accurately reviewing income and asset documentation. Candidates with underwriting or junior underwriting experience are strongly preferred. This role requires the ability to work efficiently in a fast paced environment while ensuring accuracy, compliance, and exceptional communication across internal teams.
Key Responsibilities
Review loan applications for accuracy, completeness, and compliance.
Conduct detailed credit report reviews to assess borrower eligibility.
Analyze and verify income and asset documentation in alignment with underwriting guidelines.
Clear conditions, gather required documents, and ensure files meet investor and regulatory requirements.
Collaborate closely with loan officers, underwriters, and internal partners to resolve discrepancies.
Review supporting documents such as titles, appraisals, and third-party reports.
Maintain current knowledge of conventional loan guidelines, lending regulations, and industry standards.
Qualifications
3+ years of mortgage loan processing or related mortgage experience.
Experience with conventional loans required.
Understanding of underwriting guidelines, especially for income and assets.
Prior experience as an Underwriter or Junior Underwriter is highly desirable.
Strong ability to calculate and analyze borrower income and asset data.
Excellent attention to detail with strong organizational and timemanagement skills.
Effective communication and problemsolving abilities.
Ability to work efficiently in a fast paced, deadline-driven environment.
Associate's degree or equivalent work experience.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office; comfort with loan origination systems (LOS).
General knowledge of applicable Federal, State, and Local regulations governing mortgage lending.
