Key Responsibilities
Lead and supervise the fabrication team, assigning tasks and managing workflow.
Ensure all fabricated parts meet quality standards, specifications, and blueprints.
Oversee the setup, operation, and maintenance of fabrication equipment.
Monitor material inventory, order supplies, and minimize waste in fabrication processes.
Implement and enforce safety protocols and procedures within the fabrication area.
Troubleshoot production issues and implement corrective actions to maintain schedules.
Provide training and mentorship to team members to enhance skills and productivity.
Recommended Qualifications
Extensive experience in diverse fabrication techniques (e.g., welding, machining, forming) and equipment operation.
Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints, schematics, and technical specifications.
Proven leadership or supervisory experience in a manufacturing or fabrication shop.
Strong problem-solving abilities and a keen eye for quality control.
Thorough understanding of safety protocols and best practices in a fabrication environment.
Bonus Qualifications
Proficiency with CAD/CAM software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD, Mastercam).
Experience with Lean Manufacturing principles or continuous improvement methodologies.
Advanced welding certifications (e.g., AWS D1.1, D1.2, D1.6) or experience operating specialized fabrication equipment (e.g., laser cutters, CNC press brakes).
Demonstrated experience in project management or coordinating complex fabrication jobs.
Prior experience in mentoring, training, or developing junior fabricators.
