Director of Business Development / Business Unit Leader - Education Construction

We are looking for a talented Construction Leader in Southern California, someone at a Senior Project Manager or Project Executive level who is super ambitious! This position and company will allow you to achieve more faster - in a dynamic working environment, leveraging your experience and network in a very innovative business.

The position can be based in the greater Los Angeles, Orange County, San Diego or Central Valley. The ideal person will live and have a strong network in the region.

The Market : Education

The Clients : K-12, Higher Ed, Community College, Universities and similar institutions large, small, public & private.

The right person could join in a Business Development capacity and quickly, lead the business unit. A subsidiary of a $5B leader in diversified construction, engineering and facilities sector - employee owned - with again, the opportunity to PIVOT your career out of traditional construction into something with significant growth potential and leadership opportunities.

The role centers on building relationships and providing solutions across the education sector including classroom solutions that can provide efficient and cost-effective options for school districts evaluating new classrooms, campus expansion or modernization needs.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain relationships with decision makers across LAUSD and regional public and private school districts
• Engage with leaders responsible for facilities planning, real estate and capital programs within school systems of all kinds
• Identify opportunities where innovative solutions can support school expansion or modernization efforts
• Collaborate with internal and external third party General Contractors, CM firms, Consulting firms and leadership teams to position the company for upcoming education construction opportunities
• Represent the company within the Southern California education and facilities community

Qualifications

• Strong commercial construction background at the Project Executive level
• Track record in the Education sector
• 8+ years of experience working with education clients, particularly in facilities, capital planning, or campus development
• Ability to build long-term relationships across the education community
• Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Real Estate or a related field
