
Receiving Specialist

Description
The Receiving Specialist is responsible for receiving, verifying, and delivering incoming packages using designated inventory and MMIS systems. This role ensures accurate documentation, timely delivery to internal customers, and proper handling of supplies within a fast‑paced, physically demanding environment. The assignment is initially 10 weeks, with the potential to extend or convert to full‑time.
Key Responsibilities
Receive and verify incoming purchase orders using MMIS and automated systems.
Unpack, document, organize, and prepare deliveries for safe transport.
Deliver packages promptly to appropriate internal departments and end users.
Load/unload shipments, operate pallet jacks, and maintain clean/organized storage areas.
Ensure PO accuracy and proper recordkeeping for incoming/outgoing shipments.
Support diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives through professional conduct and teamwork.
Physical & Work Environment Requirements Frequent lifting (0–100+ lbs.), bending, stooping, kneeling, climbing, pushing/pulling.
Exposure to variable weather conditions, noise, and frequent interruptions.
Periods of working independently.
Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of Richmond, VA.
Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $15.00 - $18.00/hr.
